To ensure optimal fusing results, various process parameters must be strictly controlled, and the following key precautions should be observed:

I. Precise Control of the Four Core Process Parameters

Fusing quality depends on the synergistic coordination of four key elements: temperature, pressure, time, and cooling:

Fusing Temperature

Must precisely reach the melting point of the hot-melt adhesive (single-layer fusing temperature is typically around 135°C).

Precautions: Excessively low temperatures will cause the hot-melt adhesive to melt incompletely, resulting in "false bonding," poor fastness, or easy delamination; excessively high temperatures can easily cause fabric yellowing, discoloration, deformation, or damage to the base fabric structure of the interlining.

Fusing Pressure

Pressure must be uniform and sufficient to ensure that the molten hot-melt adhesive can fully penetrate into the yarn interstices of the fabric.

Precautions: Insufficient pressure will directly reduce peel strength; excessive pressure can easily lead to adhesive leakage (strike-through) or leave pressure marks on the fabric surface.

Fusing Time

The duration required for heat to penetrate the fabric and transfer to the hot-melt adhesive layer (generally 12 to 15 seconds in a continuous fusing machine).

Precautions: Too short a duration leads to insufficient heat, while too long a duration may cause thermal damage or aging of the fabric.

Cooling Stage

Cooling and setting after exiting the fusing machine is a key step in forming the final bond strength.

Precautions: It is essential to ensure that the cooling fans or vacuum cooling system at the rear of the fusing machine operate normally, allowing the hot-melt adhesive to cool and crystallize rapidly. Avoid pulling or stacking cut parts immediately after they come out while the adhesive has not yet solidified.

II. Pre-Fusing Preparation and Testing Specifications

Trial Testing Before Production

Whenever changing a new batch of fabric or interlining, or adjusting the fusing equipment, trial testing must be conducted first. Test its peel strength (bond fastness), handfeel, occurrence of strike-through, and anti-bubbling performance after washing/dry cleaning.

Pre-Shrinkage Treatment of Fabrics and Interlinings

Ensure that both the fabric and interlining have good dimensional stability before fusing. If their shrinkage rates are inconsistent, wrinkles, wavy edges, or bubbles are very likely to occur during washing or use after fusing.

III. Common Quality Issues and Prevention

Strike-Through / Adhesive Leakage

Causes:Excessively high temperature, excessive pressure, overly loose fabric texture, or mismatched interlining coating technology.

Countermeasures: Switch to double-dot coated interlining (which effectively prevents adhesive leakage), or appropriately lower the temperature and pressure.

Bubbling and Delamination

Causes: Insufficient temperature, uneven pressure, too short fusing time, or chemical residues such as water repellents or softeners on the fabric surface.

Countermeasures: Test and increase the fusing temperature/time, and if necessary, desize or decontaminate special fabrics before fusing.

IV. Equipment and Environmental Maintenance

Cleaning of Heating Components

Regularly clean the conveyor belts of continuous fusing machines and the pressing plates of flat press machines. If there is residual hot-melt adhesive buildup, it must be removed with a dedicated cleaning agent; otherwise, it will contaminate subsequent cut parts and cause localized pressure unevenness.

Temperature and Humidity Environment Control

Interlinings and fabrics should be stored in a dry, ventilated environment. If the materials are damp, water evaporation during fusing will generate steam, directly leading to a sharp drop in bond strength or internal bubbling.

["post-3890","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
https://secure.gravatar.com/avatar/fef8cc3ee7510817a5971aae432ac893db20caf616b1503d4730d530b2b08f44?s=96&d=mm&r=g
["GET
